All got cam support but the technology differs, like encryption software and compression.

AFAIR Dishtv used to offer CAM for Rs 600 for 6 months FTA pack in few cities....I think now its stopped....
Had there been full technical DTH portability, I think, Dishtv would have gained more customers....
They should have pushed for implementation of CI properly with Trai earlier....

Actually Dishtv should have made it available everywhere....I was interested in it.....But they made it available only in handful of cities like Pune that too for limited period.....I think they were not serious about it....

Forget it. Who is actually interested in DTH portability. STBs are already subsidized and we can easily move to another operator and own setup forever.

STB is really subsidized....? Because I think FTA STB costs almost same....

But when a operator sells it then he adds everything in it only he can't charge or show separately for Middleware or software or call centre etc etc.

I think that should be included under others...If they are giving STB @Rs600 then it can be termed as subsidized.....
