Maa TV, the leading Telugu television network, has commissioned Prime Focus Technologies (PFT) to implement an ambitious project to digitize their entire broadcast operations. Utilizing PFT’s proprietary hybrid cloud content operations technology platform CLEAR™, the pioneering technical solution goes far beyond just content digitization, as the Indian-based broadcaster looks to switch to completely file-based workflows, in addition to automating the process of delivering content to multi-platforms such as web and mobile.
As part of the agreement with Maa TV, PFT will provide both the scalable and feature-rich CLEAR platform and associated managed services. This will include the implementation of a workflow and asset management technology infrastructure at PFT’s Data Center, which will be linked directly to Maa TV’s Hyderabad offices. The implementation of this solution is designed to integrate with the existing systems already in use at Maa TV and to preserve infrastructure investments already made by the broadcaster.
Through CLEAR, Maa TV’s operational staff will be able to: complete S&P checks; screen editorial versions during production for approval; communicate edit points through a mark in/out tool in a newly released HTML5 Cloud Editor; and export various EDL formats for Offline Editors, amongst many other labor-saving tasks. PFT will implement automated file-based workflows across the organization.
