The first part of CBI Series, Oru CBI Diary Kurippu released in 1988.
The movie was followed by 3 sequels.
The second part, Jagratha was one year later, in 1989.
Sethurama Iyer was a surprising character for the Malayali audiences, who were only familiar with the heavily macho, rough and tough police-detective characters.
