In an act of moral policing, a Muslim man was allegedly stripped, tied to electric pole and thrashed by hindu rightwing activists in Mangalore for travelling with a girl hailing from a different religion.
According to reports, when the 29-year-old man was going in a car with his Hindu colleague, few men forced him to stop the car and dragged him out. They thrashed and stripped him and later circulated the images on WhatsApp.
Incidentally, the girl managed to escape, but she was also humiliated when she tried to intervene. The police arrived at the spot when the visuals were flashed on local cable channels and rescued the victim.
