I think south peoples consume TV like food. So obviously holiday will be there TV day.

Where in North, people uses holiday to go out so running WTP might hit their business.

Also almost all Hindi GEC channels having 24x7 Movies channels not 1 but 2 so no space left for GEC to run movies because their dedicated movie channels already airing such all the time.

actually here too people would hangout in the holidays, in tamil too 24/7 movie channels are available but the focus would be more on the main channels since it is the preferences.
it is for the entertainment for those who stay at home on holidays.

But no. of Tamil movie channels are less compare to Hindi also Tamil Movie producers are wide opened to sell movies to any broadcaster here it is not the case with Hindi, movie getting flop day by day risk factor are also increasing.
