Microsoft has just made its Windows RT tablets cooler at its by-invitation event in San Francisco. The tech giant has promised to ship its new tablets with its latest version of Office – 2013 and Skype integration at no extra charge. With this single move, Microsoft has made its tablet even more appealing to those who desire a tablet to be a one-stop shop for both work and fun.
Microsoft has just unveiled Office 2013 at its San Francisco event. The software is specially revamped for touch use on tablets and such devices. Applications like Word, Excel, Power Point and OneNote are slated to be quick and easy to use on Microsoft’s slates.
In a press release, the tech major detailed its new Office software. It said, ‘The next release features an intuitive design that works beautifully with touch, stylus, mouse or keyboard across new Windows devices, including tablets. The new Office is social and unlocks modern scenarios in reading, note-taking, meetings and communications and will be delivered to subscribers through a cloud service that is always up to date…The new modern Office will deliver unparalleled productivity for both consumers and business customers. It is a cloud service and will fully light-up when paired with Windows 8.’
By default Office saves documents to SkyDive, so a user’s content is always available to him across Windows devices. On the other hand, Yammer provides a secure social network for businesses. Note-taking has also become remarkably easier on Microsoft’s new system where users can switch between keyboard, stylus and touch quickly and accurately.
