Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad cautioned the private telecom operators to stay alert against any kind of quality deterioration in addressing the customer complaints. Telecom Authority of India (TRAI) will examine the matter, if more complaints are raised from the customers. He also said that there is no scarcity of spectrum for the sector.

Stating his accountability to consumers in the country, Mr. Prasad conveyed that the market will soon expand to 100 crore mark. Alongside, he raised concerns over the quality of state-run telecom services – BSNL and MTNL. “BSNL was in Rs. 10,000 crore profit in 2004 when Mr (Atal Bihari) Vajpayee left the office. It reported about Rs. 9,000 crore loss under Dr. Manmohan Singh.”, he said.

Instead of announcing some proposals for customer benefits he is warning and comparing losses during BJP and congress regime.

How absurd man. Do he know anything about telecom or not ?

The present govt is just finding faults of prev govt regime
That is what every other minister is doing they just want to bring out the faults of previous govt and praise their ministers even if they incurred huge loss so both BJP and Congress are two sides of a same coin

Politics is a blame game. you always blame others for failures and take credits for success. BSNL services have been really in worst stage for me. The network keeps fluctuating and even no tower signals for some days.

Bloody Airtel which claims to be having Best Airtel 3G network Mumbai is so pathetic that i couldn't rely on it at home. Most of the time their 3G is not working.

And now they have launched another flavor of 3G to be called as " Airtel Platinum 3G "

Bayanbaazi won't work all flaws should be rectifies, biggest challenge is high speed internet in a affordable costs and I don't think any Govt. is even think about this.

Already we might face health related issues in near days because of stupid Reliance 4G as they installing very less towers but ready to give 4G by increasing frequency more then a limit.

What is Airtel platinum 3G??

Here are the details :

Airtel has come out with premium service called Platinum 3G which the company claims will provide a relief to the spectrum crunch faced by majority of users across all circles. Airtel had won the technologically neutral spectrum which lies on the 900MHz band in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata last year.Airtel has finally decided to put the 900MHz band to use by offering 3G voice and data along with the current 2100MHz spectrum. Airtel claims that the premium data service will offer 34 percent faster speed than the 3G on current 2100MHz band and will also increase the indoor coverage by 16 percent. Platinum 3G will facilitate 25 percent faster video streaming and the battery will also last for 16% longer.

Lower frequencies translate into a wider range and will help the signals to penetrate better through buildings thus offering better indoor coverage. The lower frequency also carries lesser noise and propagate longer distances as compared to the higher frequencies, thus making the 900MHz band a better choice.

The Platinum 3G service has been rolled out in Mumbai and customers need not activate or pay premium for the same. According to the latest stats Mumbai has the highest number of Internet users at 16.4 million.
