On Tuesday, [HASHTAG]#ModiInsultsIndia[/HASHTAG] was trending on Twitter not only in India but also worldwide, on back of remarks he made in China and South Korea where he said that before his government came to power, people were ashamed of being born as Indians.
According to a media report, Modi was quoted as saying: Earlier you felt ashamed of being born Indian. Now you feel proud to represent the country. Indians abroad had all hoped for a change in the government last year.
Immediately, people took to Twitter to express their anger and disappointment of having a PM who himself is ashamed of being born as an Indian. He had left for his foreign trip which includes China, Mongolia and South Korea on Thursday, May 14.
By late Tuesday afternoon, [HASHTAG]#ModiInsultsIndia[/HASHTAG] had garnered more than 43,000 Tweets.
