A new baby is about to see the light of day very soon
from the Multi Screen Media stable, earlier known as SET
India.

The network that already has the Indian division of Animax
Asia – Animax India – which began beaming on Indian
television sets from 5 July 2004 – is also one of the
pioneers to educate the Indian audience about Japanese
Anime form of animation (barring the exception of The
Jungle Book, which was aired during the mid-1990s on
the national broadcaster Doordarshan) with the likes of
Bleach: The DiamondDust Rebellion and Valkyria
Chronicles.

Animax India currently airs in English, 24 hours a day. It is
a part of the Japanese media conglomerate – Sony and
also the first animation channel in the country to be
targeting an audience between ages 15 and 40. Although
the channel did experiment with a 12 hour Hindi feed in
between but sensing that they need to cater to a larger
audience base, they shut the feed beginning 15 August,
2006.
