MTNL to soon launch free roaming

State-run telecom firm MTNL, which offers services in Delhi and Mumbai, will soon launch free roaming scheme, allowing customers to receive calls at no extra cost while traveling across the country.

BSNL already has such a scheme in place. At present, MTNL customers have to pay roaming charges for incoming calls when they go outside of Delhi and Mumbai.

Bro as per my knowledge and discuss with a top vodafone executive in November last year, all the telcos had to make roaming free all over india under the new unified license. It was a clause under the unified license to do away with national roaming. But as we know how telecos control what they want to do even with the ministry it has not been implemented.

Not only unified license infact National MNP too was the reason to make roaming free but still telcos are doing their monopoly and charging roaming.
