It was a big surprise for Beyoncé Knowles at the MTV Video Music Awards this year, as she took home four music awards. The talented musician, who apart from her music this year was in the news for her alleged divorce with Jay-Z and her so-called affair with US President Barack Obama, has silenced her detractors with her triumph at the MTV VMAs.
Although Miley Cyrus won the best Video of the Year award for Wrecking Ball, Beyonce was honoured for her shocking video Pretty Hurts and also her collab with husband Jay-Z titled Drunk in Love. (Watch: Beyonce’s music video Pretty Hurts right here!)
Beyoncé received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award which is like a lifetime achievement award. ForPretty Hurts, she won two awards – Best Video With a Social Message and Best Cinematography. Her fourth award was Best Collaboration video for Drunk in Love.
