Trying to protect from Rain and Direct sun .
1 - Rain water will block Signals and this will reduce the loss a bit,
2- Direct sunshine will damage the Plastic ,Fiber parts . Older LNBs doesnt effect much but new LNB doesnt have good materials.
Other dish have 2 LNBs ,so didnt used any cover.Minor vibration will damage the alignment.

But Quality of material used in Sharp should be quite reliable and long lasting. Isn't it Sir ??

Well the Elavation may be bit differant in ur location. i think u r from Northern part of India. I am getting 80- 85% Signals. I may get 2-3 % more if use the Satmeter and align perefectionally but its mine is mannual alignment.
i am using Sun Direct LNB. if Sharp LNB [Original] the signal will surely improove.

Well, yes I m from North India, and I m using a normal lnb, which airtel had supplied during its installation

Not at all surely. I am using this method from more than 8 years .

Yes. Actually there is a Duplicate Sharp LNB . My friend who have a DTH shop showed me while installing Sun Direct few days back. I forgot to take Pictures. Its bit bigger in size and Plastic material is not upto the mark. I have checked the Present Sharp LNB as Tatasky supplied the same to me replacing older which was gone bcoz of Lightning few days back.

what type of cover u r using?
how can signals goes through that cover

I am using plastic bottles only. if u cover with Plastic bags rain water will remain inside the plastic bag and blocks the signals.
