but they are giving new remotes to old customers and old sealed pack boxes will have old remotes , or do old boxes have remote with record button(there is no new stock as no new lot is imported recently)? confused ...

I am not sure because i was in office when they visited my home. The stb was manufactured in june 2015. So definitely it is not the old stock received suring world cup. I got remote with recording options.

after 4k activation with 1 year Platinum HD pack,can we change/degrade package to any yearly pack like New Diamond Pack or Platinum Pack (as almost all channels are same as we get 12 month free HD addon) or our stb will only work with platinum HD pack, has anyone tried?

It is mandatory to have either platinum HD or new south platinum HD for 4K STB. It is confirmed by customer care. You cannot degrade.
