Today I am going to abandon Tata sky HD , a long lasting 3.5 years subscription. The major reason is the HD Access Fee and less HD channels .
THE BEGINNING - 2011
I joined Tata sky when it was only provider with 2 HD channels @₹35 pm Discovery HD and Nat geo HD and it provides all cricket events for free. At that time it seems quite magnificent . The SD channel quality both audio and video was awesome in comparison to HD. I was sure that Tata Sky will rule DTH industry because of there pricing of packages.
THE GOLDEN AGE- till mid 2012
The time came when TS was ruling DTH world with 10 HD channels @ cheap price of 75 ₹pm then increased to 100₹pm. Still there was no competitors in the HD world as d2h was starter and Dish was the looter.
THE ROAD TO END- from October 2012 - present
After few months of increasing HD Gold Pack price there comes rumour of HD access fee to watch HD channels. The worst policy I've ever seen. The news came around 6-7th October 2012 I quickly smartly subscribed to annual package. but the problem started when I was moved to HD access policy even I subscribed to Gold Pack. After some fighting with Nodal officer i got all channels and got credited with 1700 ₹ in my account.
Now the next poor move was to increase the access fee to 125₹ and it truly forced me to move to other DTH operator. And now dish is the best option I got .
CONCLUSION-
Ive watched TS to go from 2-24 HD channels and allot of good SD addition. I love the customer service . But Tata Sky is the ultimate looters in DTH business. They just force user to opt for Mega HD package.
Like me im sure many of the other customer will leave this money sucking operator. Who just feeds on money of middle class subscriber.
