I am sure other operators too would convey the price hike .

It's nothing new. They do the sponsorship every year. I am seeing them sponsoring it since last 3-4 years.

I think about 80-90 % people r buying from the open market only. people who have the internet +netbank accounts may buy OL that too few. so the hike will effect more to other people. thats y they showed the discount for the OL Buyers.
