I don't know. I just wanted to provide other perspective of the story with some humorIs it true??
1 reason which I can see is they have acquired a lot of transponders and are paying rent for the same. To recover the investment, they want more revenue from broadcasters

Every DTH having space issue but dishtv don't so every broadcaster think only dishtv can add their all channels. But if dishtv start adding channels and start providing all channels into the base pack the revenue margin will be decrease they have hire additional transponder to as we all know they're running at MPEG 2 tats a reason they asked Indiacast to pay for special LCNs, Carriage Fee to balance and for that dishtv will be ready to become home of Indiacast, rest not even airtel added their newly launched HD channels because of space issue but dishtv can if they deal. For business bit arrogance needed otherwise you will become fool and will loose everything.

Actually Broadcasters dont see about transponders actually it is DTHs headache.It is purely business and deals are happening accordingly.This behavior dish tv has because Dish TV is the first DTH in India and they are having large base of customers.At the time of Dish TV started Dish has taken channels with very cheap but now it is not happening and they are in that kind of mind set only.That time broadcasters thought they want only platform but now it is happening.everybody wants money so that is the reason these issues are happening between Dish TV and Broadcasters.
