hello everyone...i am new to Entertainment..sorry to go off topic but my download id is 20...and i want the recording feature in my 2011 hd box bt the ccare executive says that it is applicable only in download 40 so plz tell me when will my download id be 40 and my box will be upgraded for recording
Welcome to Entertainment bro....Well it is true that id 20 have no DD via HDMI option. but in ID 32 DD via HDMI is available....CC is lying by telling that is 40 is for DD...actually id 40 is for recording facility.
you just raise your complaint to CC and tell them to upgrade the software to 32. service engineer can do manual update by pendrive.
tell your problem strictly and if necessary mail to your state's nodal officer.
Please read his query properly, friend- he's not asking for DD but recording for which he needs download id 40.Address his concern properly, lest he might get confused.

thanks to both of u... Bt just 1 more question of mine is that whether there any chance for my download id to be upgraded automatically in the near future?
According to senior D2H tech guys in Chennai the most stable ID with recording I guess is Download ID 36. ID 32 is without recording but I believe it is stable for 2011 STBs.
ID 36 they say is similar to that of Download ID 11 in the new 2222 boxes. I had the 2011 (they had upgraded that manually to ID 36) then upgraded to the 2222 box.

Yes...whenever they release the update via OTA...your STB will get updated...One thing to know..your STB must be on when they release the update and never switch off the STB while update is running otherwise STB will go Dead...
