I think there is some updates going on in this TP. They have tested in MPEG4 and all other channels r in MPEG2.
R They converting this TP to MPEG4 ?

Okie. One more doubt ;)

Does a particular TP is only MPEG2 as in case of Tata Sky who is waiting for GSAT 10 . What I understand is if a TP is MPEG2 then only MPEG2 channels can be added whereas if a TP is MPEG4 supported, then MPEG4 as well as MPEG2 both can be added.

Correct me if I am wrong .

Then Why keep hearing around that this channel moved to that Satellite. Even saw Advt of some channels claiming they are not MPEG4 etc etc.

Pls clarify this :(

1.Satellite life
2. As far as i know satellites can carry both the formats but space constraints might be the issue
3. There are two types of transmission DVB-S and DVB-S2 in a tps.(broadcasting method)
Mpeg2 channels are mostly in dvb-s and they can be decoded by dvb-s2 decoders too,.i.e. mpeg4 stbs.
But mpeg2 decoders can't decode mpeg4.
