26th August 2 people came to my house representing tatasky. They were just checking in our neighborhood what kind of STB I had.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to ask them why they (tataksy) wanted this info. I assume this is for the mpeg2 to mpeg4 conversion.
These 2 girls looked to be college girls and this assignment to collect data was given to them.
I wonder why TS needs to do this ? They already have this info with them isn't it ?
I am not in south - I am from Pune, so looks like they have started with the ground work for other regions.

no need to check by visit that stb is mpeg2 or 4. They have data but might be they are asking your address to confirm that you using ts.
