Important "No Ad" Scroll Message on STAR NETWORK Channels

Channel V is running a Scroll that "No Ad is running on the channel...". Some contract issue between Broadcaster and Ad agencies.

But when I watched Channel V for 30 minutes, it is showing ads,but less in number.

Its because every Broadcaster is opposing New Advt rule by TRAI and they have stopped showing any advt to protest against the TRAI new regulations.

IBF plays hard ball; orders TV channels to drop ads from this evening

Come 6 pm today evening and the Indian Broadcasting Foundation’s (IBF) diktat on forcing the net billing issue with advertising agencies is likely to come into full effect. All TV channels across India have been ordered to comply with the IBF order and stop carrying any TV commercials from this evening. The only exception to this ban were Sony Six and Sony Max, the two channels which are airing the sixth edition of IPL.

Already around late afternoon Star Plus and its channels had started carrying a ticker which read: “Ads are not running on this channel because advertising agencies have refused to accept revisions in billing methods which are seen as flawed by tax authorities. We regret any inconvenience but Star group is committed to doing business with the highest standards of compliance which reflects the true commercial arrangement between advertisers and broadcasters.”

So now Star SD channels have become HD channels with less no of advertisements owing to the stand off between broadcaster and AD agencies.

Fedup with ads on most channels, actually TRAI must bring some regulation to limit the number of ads per hour at least for pay channels.. now we pay and then watch ads..

Actually i read some where that there is such a plan from TRAI but no idea about what happened.
