Ever since news about Microsoft’s new and improved Windows Phone 8 platform broke, the tech world has been abuzz with guesses about which handsets will carry the operating system. It looks like a part of the mystery might be solved, thanks to a recent leak doing the rounds of the internet. According to the leak, Nokia and Samsung are the front runners for the platform – and they have some interesting code names for their handsets.
Love Wallpapers HD developers got their hands on the names of upcoming Windows Phone 8 smartphones from a database of devices built to run the OS, while testing their backgrounds. Phonearena sourced the leak from WPDang found that although most of the phones are tagged under Nokia, there is a Samsung handset thrown into the mix as well.
Thought not much else is known about the leaked handsets, what standouts most about them are their interesting names. Four Nokia devices are listed in the leak, under the names Dogphone, Fluid, Phi and P4301. Also in the listing is a Samsung handset under the name SGH-1687. Lastly, there is a device under the brand and manufacturer name Juggernaut. The model itself is listed as Alpha. All the phones are running different versions of the WP 8 platform, so the leak says.
According to tech experts over at Phonearena, the ‘P’ in P4301 is eye catching, in that it might actually stand for Microsoft’s PureView technology. If that is the case, then Windows Phone loyalists might finally get what they desire - a sophisticated WP 8 handset with the gorgeous imagery of PureView.
