Here we have to go for all 6 DTH merits and demerits

Friends just comment what you know about your dth.

1.Basic HD pack start from

2.package arrangement and cost

3.is highest pack provide all major required HD channels?

4.is any package available for provide all their available channels and its cost.

5.Is second connection (multitv offer) rate is reasonable?

I have dish true hd, d2h hd dvr, adtv dvr and tata sky hd dvr. As I have all of these my language could comparative. Find my perspective below against questions.

Friends just comment what you know about your dth.

1.Basic HD pack start from
Adtv - good
D2h - good
Tata sky - decent
Dish tv - costly

2.package arrangement and cost

Adtv - very flexible
D2h - good
Tata sky - decent
Dish tv - rigid

3.is highest pack provide all major required HD channels?

Adtv - yes
D2h - yes
Tata sky - yes
Dish tv - no

4.is any package available for provide all their available channels and its cost.
Adtv - haven't looked from this perspective
D2h - no idea
Tata sky - i think yes, mega pack
Dish tv - no idea

5.Is second connection (multitv offer) rate is reasonable?
Adtv - yes
D2h - yes
Tata sky - yes
Dish tv - yes

Adtv - sd - good, hd - decent, ess hd missing
D2h - covers all major sd and hd. No of hd hih
Tata sky - sd and hd count low. Specially hd count very poor
Dish tv - all major sd, high no of hd. Some imp hd however missing. Some exclusive hd present

7.video and Sound quality(blur images or audio breaks or 5.1 audio out via optical cable).

I do not see much merit in external single tuner recording apart from pause and rewind facility. Having this facility and not having dvr facility in my opinion is a drawback (example dish tv).

14.any logo issue?

Adtv - disaster in logo issue. Others all have good logo.

15.Is they are providing any offers frequently(like recharge offer or primary customer offer)

I again do not find this attractive as it is ultimately my money given back to me. Example i pay high price to tatasky (400rs to view 200 channels or less)and avail jingaalala offer to save 5 or 10 rs. Or 15 rs in recharge, no use for me.

16.Finally are happy with your DTH?

Happy with d2h. Need hardware software improvement.
Extremely happy with tata sky other than channel count. Can pay more to get such service if chanel availability is ensured. Not happy with adtv because of logo and ess hd not present. Not happy with dish tv for many rewsons.

Tata sky dvr - a dream dvr
Adtv dvr - dream dvr except logo and ess hd issue. And channel sorting very bad.
Dish tv - not a dvr to call it
D2h dvr - just decent

2.what kind of TV set you are using (size and brand name must)

Friends i have 3 Dths in my collection all are HD. i.e Airtel HD, D2h HD, Tatasky HD+


1.Basic HD pack start from
airtel. we can get all HD channels with minimum base pack with topup.
d2h. we can get all HD channels with minimum base pack with topup.
tatasky. HD access point is very bad move from them

airtel.good. ESS hd channels missing
d2h. better
tatasky. higher prices with minimum channels

Ts. my dish is not properly aligned and getting low signals so cant say anything.

adtv. good (but SS2 non availability in non of base pack even in Magnum pack is not acceptable)

I am very much happy with my Airtel box except non availability of ESS HD channels and non addition of SS2 in Magnum pack. Adtv should focus on HD channels count also.Magnum HD pack offer all HD and SD channels so Mostly i watch 80% adtv box for all SD and HD channels.
D2h. I am only interested in HD channels. Mostly i not use it for SD channels. (Gold Pack + HD Globe pack)
Tatasky. I often use to see recorded programs on Tatasky and thats it. (Supreme Sports Kids +HD access)

Adtv: Magnum at rs.700 pm
D2h: Platinum pack at 4s.480 pm

Adtv and d2h : yes

Adtv is the winner here and d2h has some issues with sony tv as sound goes blank for 2 -5 secs.

Adtv is ok but d2h fares better.

Adtv: worst
d2h: okay but not genre wise like that in rdtv.

Adtv: good
D2h: no need of add on as you can get all channels at a nominal rate.
11.is hardware issue any you have faced?

Adtv: No:
D2h: Remote sensing takes time and now EPG loads faster.
12.Is remote is user friendly.
Adtv: Yes
D2h: NO, you have to change the RCU settings each time if you want to playback the recordings as d2h offers no separate pause, rewind and forward button in RF remote.

13.Is external Recording Specificity available?
ADtv and D2h: Yes
14.any logo issue?

Adtv: compared to reliance it is okay
D2h: Transparent logo so no issues.


15.Is they are providing any offers frequently(like recharge offer or primary customer offer)
Adtv: at times you get offer if not recharged for 2 months or more in my case i got rs.250 on recharging for rs.300 after 2 months.
D2h: So for No
16.Finally are happy with your DTH?
Adtv: yes
D2h :yes but i'm worried that when another hardware issues would pop up.

Yes. That's why I said some correction would be required mostly in channel count.
