You can buy a sim Extender from AliExpress for about 1-2USD. Works well. Using it on my Redmi Note 4.

Yeah. I know and have seen one such in my office but using gadgets unmodified is better.
It's not a modification but a addon . On back of the phone it does look a bit odd but what can be done if we want to use both sim n sd
