IFTDA president Ashoke Pandit said, "Five bodies are coming together to make an appeal for freedom of expression for filmmakers. The industry is shocked and we are hurt that a filmmaker like Sanjay Leela Bhansali is being heckled and abused. Bhansali symbolises success of our film industry in many ways, and if he can be treated like this and harassed, things are not right."
He added that they are making an appeal to the ministers to understand the situation and take a note of the controversy and uphold the freedom of filmmakers. "Nobody has seen the film, yet people are making assumptions and attacking and abusing Bhansali. Similar controversy happened around Indu Sarkar. What will we do? We can't make films to suit everyone's ego. If someone doesn't want to watch the film, don't watch it. If someone doesn't want it to release, go to court," Pandit added.
Padmavati is the story of Rani Padmini played by Deepika Padukone in Bhansali's magnum opus. Shahid Kapoor portrays Raja Maharawal Ratan Singh, Ranveer Singh stepped in the shoes of an anti-hero playing Sultan Alauddin Khilji. The film, which is slated to release on December 1, is embroiled in a controversy as some Hindu groups and political parties, including the Congress and the BJP, claim that the film distorts history and wrongly portrays Rajput queen Padmavati. Agitated protestors vandalized the sets of Padmavati and abused him for distorting history in his upcoming film Padmavati.

hmmm.... but in north east and south india only those understands hindi who hails from north india and a big percentage will be from rajasthanis also.
in west bengal, south india rajasthanis have a very strong presence.

Maine bola Tha na. Sab bhikhari logo lo free me movie dekhna Tha. Now they will watch it and say everything is ok. Padmavati has been glorified . And then people will watch this hugely and movie will be hit.
A small share of profit in Rajasthan will be shared with Karni Sena. Then everyone will forget everything and enjoy the movie .

bhai jo bhi h. but when india got independent, at that time these people gave their land and their money to one india one nation. this is also written in history. when people came from pakistan at that time also rajasthanis sacrificed a lot. aaj bhi sabse richest comminity of india belong to rajasthan only. fir bhi agar ye bhikhari h toh shayad bhikari kehne waalo pe zyada paisa hoga inse. but these kind of people have never sacrificed when india got independent.
