Read the official statement by Sony here:

“Effective 28th August 2017, we are pulling off our programme, Pehredaar Piye Ki, from television. While we understand that the decision to end this serial will be disappointing to those whose creative energies are vested in it, namely, its crew and cast, we (as a channel) are convinced that we will be better served by focusing instead on developing viewer interest in our upcoming, new shows. We are grateful to all the artists, producers and fans of our shows and request you to graciously support the viewership of our newer ventures. “

I hate u Sony.
I never watch this creepy channel again. People please don't watch this worst channel ever. I pray that all the upcoming shows will be flop & TRP ratings of this channel will be so poor.

IndianWikiMedia earlier in the day flashed the story of Sony TV’s controversial show Pehredaar Piya Ki ending abruptly after a diktat from the Ministry.

The sudden decision left the cast & crew in a huff, in a state of disbelief and shock.

End of a show means job loss, uncertainty and loss of investment.

However, we have been told that the channel, considering the aftermath of the decision, has spoken to the makers (Shashi Sumeet Mittal) and assured that team Pehredaar can work on a new concept, thus returning on screen (within a month or two) at the new given time slot (10 30 pm), with a fresh approach, retaining its major cast & crew members.

Producer Sumeet Mittal, “No, these reports are absolutely wrong. Taking the show off air was a mutual decision between us and broadcasters.” He also spoke about how they were working on the story of the show and it would be back soon. “We are very much working on the story right now. We are developing the content for an earlier time slot.” Sumeet Mittal further said that Pehredaar Piya Ki’s story was told with a purpose and the new time slot did not justify the show’s content. “Due to the late time slot, we decided to shut off the show and come back with a renewed story, which would answer all the objections that viewers had from the concept,” says Sumeet Mittal. It is undecided if they will return with the same set of actors or new ones as the story is being developed as of now.

He said, they are indeed coming back soon. “Yes, it is 100 percent, we will be back soon,” he stated. While the date for the comeback is yet to be finalised as they need to get the story in place, the producer said it will be in regular prime time slot. “It is a creative process. We cannot have a time limit. People are working on the script day and night. The idea is to return as soon as possible,” signed off Sumeet Mittal.
