Hollywood star Pamela Anderson has written to Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy and Cochin Dewaswom board president against parading of elephants at the Trissur Pooram to be held on Wednesday. In her email she suggested that it can be replaced with bamboo and papier- mache versions.
If her proposal is accepted she has offered to bear the cost of 30 - life size and portable elephants.
People for the ethical treatment of animals (PETA) officials said that she had sent the email day before yesterday and so far there has been no response to this.
