Well, bhat ji, finally now I have also joined the race for tuning other sats.
I managed to tune Insat 4CR on my airtel dish finally, and got 1TP from airtel and victers channel @74E.
But strangely I cudnt find ABS1 channels, may be the skew wasnt right. Moreover the strength was 70 , quality being 60.

Still, I m happy that I was able to set a satellite on my own, with my android satellite finder application.

Well u have to buy a New KU band Dish and LNB sure. Its better to leave ur DTH Dish as it is and not to use for experiments or track other sats.
the Quality is the real part of tuning to sats. the strength is related to the Power of LNB as i know. Once u get the Signals the Strength also increase but surely quality is the main part and helps in locking the TP.
