Documents accessed under RTI Act reveal that Indian missions in 16 countries spent Rs 37.22 crore in one year. Modi visited 20 countries between June 2014 and June 2015. However, the missions in Japan, Sri Lanka, France and South Korea denied disclosure of information to RTI applicant Comm (retd) Lokesh Batra. Batra had approached individual missions seeking expense related information on the PM's trip.

Among the most expensive trips were those to Australia, the US, Germany, Fiji and China while the cheapest trip was Bhutan which cost Rs 41.33 lakh. In Australia, the mission spent over Rs 5.60 crore on hotel stay for the PM and his delegation and Rs 2.40 crore on hiring cars.

The PM's trip to New York in September 2014 incurred spending of Rs 9.16 lakh on hotel accommodation for the SPG delegation and Rs 11.51 lakh for hotel rooms for the PM, and officials of the foreign ministry and the PMO. The delegation stayed at the New York Palace Hotel.

On topic.

What are the expenses of earlier PMs
i think bro - at earlier pm's time the dollar value was not as much high as it is now.
earlier pm also have not visited so much of countries in their's full time tenure.
also earlier pm did not bring so much of FDIs.
also never any american president met any countries (developing ) ' pm twice within a year.

I think visiting and spending isn't an issue if PM is able to bring foreign money to India. Modi is acting as a marketing manager to bring funds to country. So he has be efficiently supported.

Lets equate the expenditure with amount of FDI which he has got for the country in percentage or in ratio. I am sure it would be lower then any other PM in the country !!. In business language =gross revenue divided by sales & distribution cost (S&D cost) What i hate about media & even at times common people is that they just look at the data/ figures in isolation !!. I am sure the dogs in Times NOW will bark on this topic ... such a shame that the good old debate has been turned to a mockery by the news channels !!!
