[HASHTAG]#Lucknow[/HASHTAG] [HASHTAG]#Uttar[/HASHTAG] Pradesh Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Sadhvi Prachi kicked up another controversy by calling Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan a "Pakistani agent" on Monday, said media reports.
The leader, as media reports said, also slammed the actor for saying that religious intolerance in the country won't let it grow and become a superpower.
Khan while celebrating his 50th birthday also said that he was ready to give up his Padma Shri award for the cause. Hitting out at Khan, Prachi said that for such acts the actor should be charged with sedition and sent to Pakistan.
Earlier in March the controversial leader had called for a boycott of films starring Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan and asking right-wing Hindu outfits to tear posters of their films and make a bonfire of them.
She made the call for the boycott of the Khans while suggesting that their films are spreading a culture of violence and advising youngsters not to idolise them.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan turned 50 today and added his voice to growing protests by the intelligentsia over ‘climate of intolerance’, saying there was “extreme intolerance” in the country.
“There is intolerance, there is extreme intolerance… there is I think… there is growing intolerance,” Shah Rukh told a TV channel.
