Prasar Bharati, India’s public broadcaster, is on a major revamp exercise. Bollywood actress Kajol is being roped in to join as a board member of Prasar Bharati. Kajol’s name is among seven people proposed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) as it is looking at “remodelling of Doordarshan” and making it commercially viable. All the names have been approved by the Home Ministry and now are being sent to the vice president who will shortlist four of them to fill up vacancies for part time members of the board, according to a report in the Economic Times.
