Normally if shows are popular then no reason to shutdown because Indian Telly Shows run for decades long.
If they bring the season wise concept which they did tries to bring in the middle then I can understand shows are shutting down.
But if current serials are not popular and new serials are coming then we have a tendency to try other channels and try new serials but when you sees the ratings you will found STAR Plus is constant and freeze its position to number 1. Which suspects the rating systems.

TRP too will be effected. Infact it would have being effecting. So, they are closing outdated serials and introducing new ones.
