I think the reason is because DVR doesn't have a RF remote.
No...I didn't...coz they will charge for replacement and this type of small issue will be no concernt to them as fault.
This is the difference between d2h and TS...d2h people are negligent otherwise how can they release this type of STBs?? And specially in the case where a STB is being made as a upgraded version of earlier one to solve out bugs!!!!
How they can miss this kind of visible bug?? This is still mystery to me!!

I think you should cite it as manufacturing defect and demand replacement for free. If you escalate they will surely do it for free as its a product failure issue.
There has been done many engineer visits in a year...recently i replaced my 75 cm ODU reflector with regular 60 cm reflector...as 75 cm reflector was having structural defect..so after my many phone calls and mail, they finally agreed to replace ODU free of cost but still they deducted 150rs. From my balance as visiting charge!!!

Although it's price high but considering the complete product materials I feel it's pricing as justified. One RF remote, wireless dongle, rechargeable battery, earphone etc will cast this much only.
Even Tata Sky charges some 600 for universal remote and 300 for WiFi dongle. Comparing to that this remote is providing audio Jacks which is unique if it's kind. Also technology used to pair 4 RF remote with single dongle is again a tricky architecture.
