News Rains continue to batter Tamil Nadu

Heavy rains have battered several areas of Tamil Nadu, including the state capital Chennai, throwing normal life out of gear. The death toll in the rain related incidents has risen to 188 since October. Many low lying areas in Chennai have been water logged.

The city's infrastructure has taken a heavy beating, many roads have caved in while nine flights have been delayed. Authorities in Chennai and Kancheepuram have issued a flood alert, asking people to move to a safer area.

Madhya Kailash in Chennai, which happens to be a locality where major IT companies are located, has seen a major road cave in. Roads haver been damaged in other parts of the city as well including North Chennai, Mandaveli, PS Sivasamy Salai Mylapore, Taramani Link Road, Madhya Kailash intersection on Sardar Patel Road and Rajiv Gandhi Salai. A portion of Gandhi Mandapam Road also caved in near Kotturpuram bridge.

The Chennai City Corporation has set up emergency control rooms across the city.

Heavy rains today pounded several parts of Tamil Nadu with most areas of Chennai witnessing water logging severely disrupting airport, train and bus services as Chief Minister J Jayalalithaaa reviewed the situation and deputed ministers to inspect the affected regions. This is the worst rain that the city has seen in nearly a hundred years, the weather office, said.
Chennai Corporation has announced Emergency Contact Numbers for all the regional zones in the city. people can contact the following numbers in case of any emergency due to the floods.

Just seen this news on some of Tamil channels
This rain should come here in Marathwada & All nature will get fulfilled as here rivers are empty only
Can this water be transferred here in Marathwada using river connections?

I never watch news channels bro unless there is election or terror activities in country.

I am sure they must have aired as i was getting NDTV alerts for this in morning.
