Arnab Goswami, Times Network president of news and chief editor of Times Now and ET Now, does not get excited by ratings, or that’s what he says. “I am happy with the ratings, but they don’t move or excite me. What excite me are stories. I am constantly thinking about stories,” Goswami told a gathering at an event organised by Twitter India, [HASHTAG]#RiseWithTwitter[/HASHTAG]. Incidentally, Times Now enjoys leadership position in the English TV news genre. When Twitter market director for India and Southeast Asia Rishi Jaitly told Goswami that Times Now’s [HASHTAG]#LalitGate[/HASHTAG] tweet got 43.2 million impressions over 16 days, Goswami added that he does not like to get swayed by data. “I tend not to get swayed by data. Yes, wherever I am going, I have seen people talking about the story and calling it LalitGate, a term which Times Now coined, but my focus is on my craft. I am a journalist at heart and a storyteller. For me, it is important to internalise,” Goswami said.
