Reliance communications, India’s 4th largest telecom operator has started charging roaming tariff between Maharashtra and Mumbai circles which it used to treat as paired circles previously.

This move seems to have been influenced by the ongoing trend in the market where operators like Tata Docomo started charging roaming tariff between Kolkata and West Bengal circles.

As confirmed by customer care executive the changes have been brought into force since yesterday 5th September 2015 in accordance with the guidelines laid down by TRAI.

Customers who have been affected by this move are advised to recharge with the ‘One India One Rate’ STV which will give free incoming calls for seamless roaming between the two circles, this applies to both CDMA as well as GSM subscribers of both circles

It's all depends on how they acquired license.

I guess there was a TRAI order not to bifurcate with in a state, now they have over ruled their own ruling .

Yes. Pond cherry is a UT and there license would have been sold separately to operators.

This is applicable only for licence which were acquired for the same circle.
