I remember the first time cable was installed in my house we had 5 cable channels which were
Star Plus english
M TV
Prime Sports then was converted to star sports
BBC
Local Cable (VCR Channel)
Subscription was Rs. 100/- PM
Later Zee started transmission from 7 PM 10 PM IST....few of it's first shows was Snakes and ladder ....

I also remember that the tv antenna would catch signal if the booster was in near building .... we used to adjust the antenna accordingly ......

Me too for almost same years. in 1994 Cable was introduced in our town. I tried all tricks and cracks possible to watch stolen cable connection. I continued this till 2000. :D

There used to be a hindi music channel named ATN... which was eventually taken over by B4U ...as there was no MSO and local cable operator dedicated to each area running their network ... you could go to their office and request them to play a particular movie..As we were accustomed to watch DD via antenna.. when i saw the cable first time ..i was amazed with the clarity and presentation ... On contrary... these days ... i am sure with improved transmission technology and new generation TV there has been a sea difference in what we used to see 15 years ago and what we seen now... as rightly said green has no end ... we want even better ... and crib for even small distillation....ASPIRATION ...for more ..I recently read some where that soon TV will also indulge viewers with fragrances ....so you can smell what u see ....
Out of 5 sensory of human (Touch , See,Smell,Listen & Taste) till now TV viewers has only experienced 2 See and Listen.. soon you could smell ... and sooner or later as per science tech.. they are developing a device just like a printer which you dispense taste samples ... in forms for bits .. first it would be tested in computers ... then eventually could be integrated to TV ... imagine what wonder it can do to online shopping/TV shopping channels and over all food industry.... Well our generation is still set to see some more technological advancement .. in times to come.... :cheers:

I used to have only two channels ZeeTv which the cable operator changed to any other when Zee didn't have program. and next was DD National. I was crazy abt dishes and receivers and used to spend most of my time oiling and buttering them to see the set up. that time I was in std -3 :p. I then started mine local cable operator with his work to learn the stuff and the very first time I saw a decoder was of star sports and I was really crazy abt the stuff.

I remember,My cable operator used to give XXX movies on Friday mid night threw VCR.Every Friday,Shivarathri to US.I used to watch Hindi songs(90's) songs on mid night and early morning on ATN(first 24hrs Hindi music channel).
Every friday I use to watch Star movies which they give Midnight movies (11.30,1.30 and 3.30) which are having soft core.One movie I still remember "Hotspot".After that Star movie stopped airing mid night masala movies.

In the early days even SUN TV and Surya TV were enough to make guys excited ;)

My Cablewala whose services i was enjoying in free by pulling cable used to replace one Music channel with TB6 on Saturday nights after 1:00 AM.

I remain awake till 2:30 AM and study to watch the action of TB6 ;)

Sun tv and Jain tv had an agreement as per which in the evgs Sun would be telecasted and Surya tv used to air soft porn malayalam movies.
