Restore factory settings of Set top box (Dishtv)

Experts please clarify me for the following:

Since one month i was facing a audio trouble in one perticular channel, and then whenever we reached to cc by mail or telephone the audio trouble is rectified and it was lasted for few days ( 2 or 3days only), then again starting the same audio trouble (voice stretching) in the same perticular channels. I fed up with this trouble and recently I give my feed back soundly to Cc about this and now they are telling me to do the Restore factory settings and this will solve the problem.

Is this process will really solve the problem or no. And if i do the restore factory, then the set top box may go to old version of software or no. Further is there any loss of channels or Transponders . Please respond me . thanks in advance for all.

Factory reset will not harm anything . Only setting will be restored like parent lock code,picture setting etc . It's not related to firmwire verson by any means . Moreover i doubt this procedure to rectify the weird audio issue . Anyway give a try at least :)

After factory reset your set will serach tps to get channels . It will show Epg updating servise list please wait . U hav to wait until it's get completed .

But Resetting STB will not solve Audio problem as CC is misguiding. I think the issue is something different. But its better to try their troubleshooting tricks before escalating further.

I am agreeing 100% with raja, as he knows what is the my problem exactly, moreover this is not only for me all other dishtv users (my friends) having the same audio trouble every now and then. Even so many times cc has been asked to rectify this trouble (with kind help of friends like raja...). But it is not been solved for permanently. thanks for all your support.

yes no use, this is from dishtv side only and they have to rectify this for permanent and not temporarily when we complaint to them.
