Dhoni is good for nothing and the other blah
Rush hour in Delhi Metro. If you don't let your ears fly among the sea of human skulls, chances are that the elbow nudges and the chloroformic armpits will annoy you into a useless argument. Useless because it's useless. If you can't accept that on a ground where every soul is surviving on a 6-inch space, then the Metro is not your mode of transport. Step out and burn your own gas or call a cab.
But even with twisted faces and wrinkled foreheads, commuters stand their ground in conditioned air that saves you from at least 10 degrees than the scorching sun is letting out beyond the Metro door.
Some count the stations to go for their destination, many warm their eyes and most have themselves plugged as a wire dangles down the ears into the cellphone port. The Digital Age, as we call it.
But the two categories that enjoy their rides the most are the speakers and the listeners.
A variety of topics fly thick and fast percussing your eardrums. You can just pick and choose what to hear and what not. Kejriwal, AAP, Modi, Bollywood,
saas-bahu gossip, teenage banter and cricket are the subjects that rule the roost.
Of the above, one topic that stays common across all age groups, though largely male-dominated, is cricket. It's like 'Experts Running Riot in Delhi Metro'. Here are two freshly hand-picked debates running between Rajouri Garden and Noida Sector 16.
The Dhoni bashers: The debate was whether Virat Kohli should replace MS Dhoni as ODI skipper as well.
Boy 1:
Tu mujhe bata usne kiya kya hai aaj tak. (you tell me what Dhoni has done until now)
(OOPS!)
Boy 2: What are you saying, man! He has won us two World Cups (T20 and ODI), made us No. 1 in Tests.
Kya bakwaas kar raha hai tu! (What rubbish are you talking)
Boy 1: But his time is up. Runs to ban nahi rahe us se aur Test cricket se usne sanyas le hi liya hai (he is not able to score runs and has already quit Tests).
Boy 2: Arre but we have T20 World Cup agle saal (next year). Dhoni chahiye hi chahiye (needed at any cost).
Boy 1: Par ODIs ki captaincy to chhod de, uske bas ki na hai ab (But he should leave captaincy in ODIs, he is past his prime in that format). Kohli taiyar hai (is ready).
