Top Pakistani off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has been suspended from international cricket after tests found his bowling action was illegal, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said on Tuesday.

Ajmal, the world's number one bowler in one-day internationals, was suspended "with immediate effect" following an assessment in Brisbane last month.

The 36-year-old was reported for a suspect action after last month's first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle. He can apply for a re-assessment once he has modified his action.

I don't understand why ICC is targeting only sub continent players like murali and ajmal why can't they take action against foreign players which are suspected of illegal bowling action like the bowler from West indies and some other players. Looks like there is a partiality with foreign players and sub continent players are made scapegoat:beat::beat2:

I think in World Cricket no foreign spinner born before Warne and after Warne who impressed in front of a World, Greame Swan was there but spinners are hard worker guys as when he realized he don't have best performance he left the game.

Also Johan Botha suspended for his illegal action so we can't blame ICC but I don't understand if these guys having illegal action then why they allowed these player to go so long now Saeed Ajmal suspended, now what ICC want that he change his action in the age of 36.

ICC should list up all suspicious bowler first ask them, help them to change their action if Doosra is illegal then let it ban otherwise guys like Bhajji will spoil our career with such Doosra that their Off Spin will stop spinning and they will phase legal battle too.

Exactly, I also have same doubts. What was ICC doing all these days.

How came they declare any action illegal after so many years. Can't they judge this in one or two tournament.

With so many technological development, I don't think it would be tough task to judge this.

It seems to be a clear cut baised decision either in revenge or in favour of someone.

Really very sad news

Was ICC sleeping tight earlier if Ajmal action was objectionable

Question mark on the performance of ICC.

Sad news for entire cricket lovers, who love this sport and these days cricket is becoming batting dominant and bowlers like Ajmal are the charm of cricket
