All Star's regional channels reflect a creative name like, Suvarna, Pravah, Jalsha, Maa, Vijay etc instead of Kannada, Marathi, Bangla, Tamil, Telugu and so on.

There is nothing creative in it.
What's creative in Star Maa. If it was Star Telugu, Star Telugu Movies, Star Telugu Music etc it would have made sense.
Its just the old name that's carried forward with Star logo. Just because the old name was/is stronger in the regional market than Star.
Will Star expand their channels portfolio in more regional market like Zee???
Star is a strong player in South
Number 1 in Malayalam
Number 2-3 in Tamil
Number 3-4 in Telugu
Number 3-4 in Kannada
Apart from this in the other Major markets it has good presence
Number 1 in Bangla
Number 2 in Marathi
So Star has covered all major markets.
There are other regional segments but they are very small viz
Odiya
Bhojpuri
Punjabi
Gujrati
Assamese.
Not sure if big broadcasters can do something in such highly localized small markets.
If Star is to expand they will buy they won't waste time in experimenting with launching channels them selves. They bought Asianet, Maa, Suvarna.
Weak? It is not present at all in regional market. It only has one regional channel Sony Aath.
It has licenses for other languages for months now but still they haven't managed to launch a single channel.
It means that only they are having zero experience in regional field plus Sony aath also not performing good
Except some locally produced cartoon show like, Gopal Bhaar, NIX, Nonte Fonte, there are no other shows to watch on this channel. If you don't provide good content for watching, then how can u expect for good TRP!!!

Gopal Bhaar is a very good Cartoon show to watch. Dubbing in hindi, this show also be telecasted in Sony PAL. U can watch it.
