how is the movie in 3D? was there 2D release?

People who watched 3D said it was nice and well converted.
But I watched the 2D version and really enjoyed it. Watching this epic movie on a recently opened theatre was quite amazing.
They have worked very much on sound and music. Video was blur somewhere but overall it was a great watch for me.
