Siti Cable has been on an acquisition spree in the fiscal ended 31 March 2016. The national multi-system operator (MSO) acquired majority stake in four cable TV companies, formed an equal joint venture (JV) with one, and fully acquired two companies during the year. Another deal has been signed and is awaiting approvals for conclusion. Siti Cable bought 51 per cent stake in Vadodara-based Sai Star Digital Media, Siti Prime Uttaranchal Communication, Panchsheel Digital Communication Network and Andhra Pradesh-based Bargachh Digital Communication Network. As already reported by TelevisionPost.com, the company acquired 50 per cent stake in Assam-based Axom Communications & Cable. The JV is eyeing 1 million customers in the northeast in the next two years. Siti Cable has fully acquired Variety Entertainment and Kolkata-based Indinet Service.
