Software upgrade tonight

For asianet digital customers,their is a software upgrade for stb tonight.just received the message....i am waiting for it.hope

new changes will happen...

That's very good. They are informing in advance regarding Software Update unlike DTH Operators which performs OTA at any random times.

They didn't rolled out the update yet.....

If they inform proactively, customers will definitely keep the Box ON and when pushed STB will be updated in 1st attempt itself. Also those having Power-cut issue and have inverter at home will connect the STB with Inverter during such Updates.

So, its definitely very nice thing by Asianet Digital who are informing customer proactively about Software Update.

and what if there is power cut of around 16-18 hrs

In that case its better to keep the STB switched off then. because as Senior Members were suggesting Power Cut in between Update will corrupt the Entire STB software and it need to be taken to Service Centre where they will update Software via other mediums.
