Sony bags TV rights of 'Student of the Year' & 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani'

Sony TV has bought exclusive television rights for two upcoming films from Dharma Productions-Student of the Year and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.

The broadcaster will pay about 50 crore for the seven-year exclusive satellite rights for the two films-one starring Ranbir Kapoor and the other directed by Karan Johar-three film and television industry executives familiar with the development told ET.

Sony Entertainment Television has bought the rights for several successful films including Krissh 3, Talaash, Rowdy Rathore, Paan Singh Tomar, Tezz, Ek Tha Tiger and Jab Tak Hai Jaan in the last two-three years. Its partnership with Dharma dates back to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
