Putting an end to all rumours of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ going off air, Sony Entertainment Television (SET) and Kapil Sharma have extended their partnership for the comedy show by another year.

SET executive VP and business head, Danish Khan said, “‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ brings smiles to millions of viewers every weekend night across the globe.

Kapil is an extraordinary talent and we are delighted to have further cemented our relationship with an extension of this contract. We are confident that the show and its talented cast will continue to enthral audiences across the globe.” Since its launch in 2016, ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ has succeeded in keeping the audience in peals of laughter with wit and humour. The show has become a popular platform for Bollywood celebrities to promote their upcoming projects.

Sharma said, “I am deeply touched with the warmth and love the audience has showered on us over the years. It’s their belief and undying devotion that encourages us to continue to reinvent ourselves and bring smiles to every household week on week. I am grateful to Sony Entertainment Television for believing in me and our show, and supporting us in creating and bringing unlimited entertainment to every household every weekend.”

Though the fight between Sharma and fellow comedian Sunil Grover attracted media attention, the show continues to be the most-preferred destination for celebrities. After the exit of Grover and Ali Asgar, ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ witnessed a drop in its ratings. As per a source, the channel is planning to revamp the show.
