There seems to be no end to the fare wars that Indian airlines have been indulging in over the past couple of months.

A SpiceJet release today said that the LCC is offering tickets from eight cities to destinations across the country, with fares starting as low as Rs. 1,999 all-inclusive. All this to celebrate the arrival of the monsoon.

Spicejet's move comes soon after AirAsia launched its service in India and announced its first flight from Bangalore to Goa would be priced at Rs 990. This move is expected to spark off a fresh war on air fares.

On 30 May, IndiGo announced a special Re 1 base fare on the Bangalore-Chennai and Bangalore-Goa routes, to take on AirAsia India.
