This channel reminds me of UTV's effort to bring global films underr 'World Movies' channel, but eventually lost the battle to the mainstream movie channels.
I am excited for this one albeit the name which sounds like they are trying to too hard to prove they stand apart from the rest.
Recent additions like Star Movies Select and revamped Movies Now + (or MN+) channels were nice but quite boring. SMSelect could as well be called SM2 without making any difference. I prefer MN+ if I had to choose between the mentioned channels; their content and presentation is very appealing.
Waiting to see what Sony brings to the table because I'm ready to try some foreign delicacies

This channel is overrated. Cannot completely agree if it has to be FTA nevertheless it could be a part of some relatively higher packages offered by DTH providers. Discontinued my SWP subscription just 3 months after its launch, and never went back to it. Have heard that Tata Sky has included this channel in their larger packs - haven't fact checked it though. Unfortunately there isn't such facility in VideoconD2H even on the highest paid package. Which is just sad.

Other ops have given the SWP on base packs except d2h. UTV world movies failed to bring new titles and that lead to fall in TRP and closure.

Maybe vD2H is contemplating on replacing this channel, hence do not want to oversell it, yet. Star is claiming it to be premium only because it is commercial free which is partially true because they don't have advertisers but they keep telecasting their upcoming shows (not like watching on a streaming service).
What happened to World Movies is also sad because I started watching it for rare films - old or new titles, I would still watch it. But just like other channels they reran the same movies aired before, and hardly refreshed their content (probably because they knew they were shutting it down.) Hope it makes a comeback
