News Star appeals in Delhi HC against TRAI letter in commercial subs matter

Star India has filed an application in the Delhi High Court against the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) letter to broadcasters directing them not to provide signals to commercial subscribers directly. The application has been filed under the main petition through which the broadcaster has challenged the TRAI’s tariff order that puts commercial subscribers on a par with ordinary subscribers. It will come up for hearing on 25 May. The broadcaster has pleaded that the court must modify its 15 May order by staying the regulation as well as the direction of TRAI in the wake of the letter.

Isn't it better for hotels to provide DTH signals instead of taking signals from broadcasters individually & maintaining head-end like structure....?

I think in recent ruling DTH and MSOs can provide their service in the hotel tats a reason STAR moved to TDSAT as they not able to loot peoples in fact couple of minutes ago Zee Corporate tweeted this:

Yes tats a reason they tweeted purposely that not all broadcasters are supporting this move instead believes to push their platform.

Doesn't matter what ratings are all about still small city peoples watch Zee TV, Sony specially for CID. BARC people may not even knows thousands of such cities where people's watch channels other then Star. Even Sahara One having viewers.

i was kidding yaar but one thing i see is there is no distinguish between small and big cities, people would prefer to watch the ones recommended by others.

My point is regarding what Star is doing and what others are not. I never saw such things from Colors, Zee and Sony.

In fact in recent past Colors grow rapidly but they never goes to TDSAT regarding any such anti viewer's propaganda.

Now even small hotels are benefitting with Trai's ruling but Star wants to kick everyone's business and wants to eat peoples hard fought profit.
