Breaking News Star India to switch off channels on Hathway

Issuing of public notices by companies, be it broadcasters or distribution platform (DTH operator or MSO), is getting common. In a fresh spat, a public notice has been issued by Star India which informs its viewers that they will not be able to watch the network’s channels on Hathway Cable and Datacom.

In the notice published in leading newspapers of Delhi NCR, the broadcaster has said that the consumers in the DAS notified areas of Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Agra will not get the signals of the Star India channels.“The signals are likely to be disconnected after three weeks from today by Star India to Hathway New Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh,” states the notice.

These kind of notices are common between MSO and Broadcaster.

Most of the times things get settled and sometimes fight continues in the form of notices and advt in newspaper.

In DAS areas, the Star channels will, however, be available on RIO basis for Hathway customers. “We have sent them RIO agreement as well but haven’t heard anything yet from Hathway. Only they can say what they are thinking,” added the executive.
