Fox International Channels (Fic) Content Sales, FIC’s newly formed content distribution arm, has secured five new distribution deals for producer M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming suspense-filled 10-episode thriller ‘Wayward Pines’, just months after bringing it to the market. Its sister broadcaster Star World has bagged the rights for the show in the country. In Canada, City TV (owned by Rogers Media) has come on board for the US simulcast while Shomi, Roger Media’s new SVOD joint venture, has picked up second window rights to the series. The show has also been sold to Sky in New Zealand, DBS in Israel and Filmbox in Romania. The recently locked licensees have committed to joining the planned 14 May global day and date launch for ‘Wayward Pines’, making it the largest scripted-drama launch in television history.
